EXPRESSIVE BOUQUET- PAINT & COLLAGE
Not only will you create TWO paintings, but you discover the fun in painting smaller images in a sketchbook, to collage onto onto your two paintings!
Adding a sketchbook practice to your artistic journey creates mobility to your art time, as well gives an inner joy because you can create with ease due to limited supplies.
You can carry your 'sketchbook practice' with you where ever you go.
All you need for making collage images any time you feel creative is a sketchbook, mechanical pencil, a paint brush or two and a few colors of fluid acrylic paints.
Discover mixed media art through collage!
Mixed media in visual artwork is described as using more then one medium in the art work.
Although the course is titled "Paint & Collage" the end result is mixed media.
Why? Because will be add the butterfly images we paint on paper in our sketchbooks, directly onto our art we paint on stretched canvases.
Voila! Two mediums -
PAPER & CANVAS EQUAL MIXED MEDIA
We will explore shape, pattern and color in a slightly 'abstract'way.
Painting "expressive-style " means the artist "paints what they see" and prioritizes conveying their emotions, inner experiences, and subjective perspective through color, brushwork, and composition when creating their art.
We will create two pieces of art on stretched canvases, then add our small painted collage elements.
We will be painting in Jill's favorite technique- two pieces of art at once wit the same color palette.
Next we will use a sketchbook to create smaller acrylic paintings to "collage' onto our canvas.
A small collage will add interest and enhance an artwork's composition and draw the viewer's eye effectively.
Butterfly collage images are included to download and print for reference.
The course includes a pdf download of four vintage butterfly images for you for print for use as reference for painting.
You are welcome can use the printed image to collage the directly onto your canvas- your choice.
